Recent Extreme weather events during time of global warming..?

Here is a list of recent extreme weather events of freezing temperatures during the current global warming hype!

The current climate trend may be scary for many climatologists, because it doesn't seem to cooperate with predicted global warming from greenhouse gases. No exponential warming trend in line with increasing levels of CO2.
Instead, since the start of the new millennium the temperature trend is leveling off.
If this trend is set to continue the global warming bubble scare will eventually burst. This would be a real disaster for future funding and jobs for the many scientists that study the effects of greenhouse gases and global warming.

Earth's Global Temperate Trends 1980 - 2006

Surface temperature recordings credit Global Warming Art

It is possible that the tipping point from the 20th century warming trend already have been reached. In 1998 a strong El Niño "an ocean temperature surface phenomena of the Pacific" pushed up the global temperature. Since then the Earth's average surface temperature have leveled off.

In the Southern Hemisphere the temperature is getting lower, especially in the South Pacific near Antarctica.

The media is now mostly interested of reporting weather events they think can be connected the global warming from greenhouse gases in order to create splashy headlines. This means that they like to report about heat waves, droughts, floodings and hurricanes from all around the world.
What they don't like to inform you about are unusual freak cold snaps other than to say that some of the cold weather may be attributed to climate change and from the predicted increasing numbers of intense storms as a result of global warming.

Therefore I'm proud to be able to give you a list on this page of a collection of resent freak cold weather events that largely have gone unnoticed in the media. You probably can't find this collection on any other site on the Internet in one place.

WARNING if you are a climatologist!! Please...LEAVE this website now...!!
This information can be very chilly and a scary read if you are making an academic career as a true disciple of the anthropogenic global warming apocalyptic faith and believe system.
You're much better off continue reading peer reviewed "censured" journals in climatology and learn about the latest computer prediction of increase in flooding, drought, rising of the sea level, storm increase, the spread of deadly plagues and the melting of the ice caps.
...You know the usual stuff!
Or you could pray for more global warming!!

NASA Picture Of The Snow in Lesotho and South Africa

South Africa

At the end of July and beginning of August 2006 a freak weather system gave snow and low temperatures to large area of South Africa and Lesotho. This satellite photo shows this rare event of large extended snow cover of the east South Africa mountains and of Lesotho.

Snow was also reported in Johannesburg for the first time in 25 years.

Two weeks later in 2006 they were once again hit by heavy snow in South Africa!!

Early winter sets in with record low temperatures and snowfall in South Africa May 2007.

Late June 2007. Pretoria sees its first snowfall since 1968 and some parts of Johannesburg gets up to 4 inches of snow! It resulted in flight delays as the Johannesburg airport became covered in snow and ice. More pictures from South Africa!

Australia

Snow in Melbourne on Christmas day 2006 in Australia???
You must be kidding ... Mate!!!

Well, not exactly, but the surrounding mountains in Victoria and Tasmania got heavy white snow during Christmas.

This is weird, because as far as I know this is in the Southern Hemisphere, during their summertime. People took to the hills both in Tasmania and in Victoria and were able to experience an Australian white Christmas for the first time ever.

Earlier the same year in their spring they had snow in Queensland in November following a freak storm!!

Looking at Western Australia, Perth, Australia got it's first frosty freeze...EVER RECORDED! This happened in June 2006.

Heaviest snowfall in Southern Australia since 1951. This happened in August 2005.

The ocean between Australia and Antarctica is that part on the Earth which is cooling down the most giving more occasional cold snaps to Australia.

Australian tropics affected by climate change? Record low temperatures reported from large areas of Queensland and in The Northern Territory. Retailers had a hard time meeting the sudden demand for warm clothes and heaters as low temperatures hit the area. Late June 2007. During the same time the long drought that had effected the interior were replaced by heavy rains and extensive flooding.
This PDF report from the Australia's National Meteorological Service document the exceptional nature of the weather event.

The cold weather led to Coral bleaching on the Great Barrier Reef!
Threat to coral reefs from global cooling?

On Mid July 2007 the chill continued in Queensland hitting Brisbane, the Gold and Sunshine Coast with sub-zero temperatures.

South America

Cold temperatures in the Andean mountains early in the season killed more than 200 people prompting emergency relief for Peru. Scientists blame this on "climate change"?..!!!!. Late may 2007

Southern South America is experience its harshest winters in living memory. It started in May with cold weather which led to energy shortage in Argentina and snowfall in the Andes. On the 9th of July 2007 Buenos Aires became covered in snow for the first time since 1918.

Persian Gulf

Hold on to your hat...or better still your "shimagh" or Arab head scarf because for the first time ever snow fell in one of the last days of 2004 in the United Arab Emirates. This country is located in the Persian Gulf and is more accustomed to temperatures above 40 degrees Centigrade.

---------------------------

Indian Subcontinent

One morning in January 2006 people woke up in New Delhi, India seeing FROST on the streets and on cars. Not good for the many homeless people living on the streets. This was the first time in 70 years frost appeared in this overcrowded city.

Snow fell in Katmandu, Nepal for the first time in 60 years This happened in February 2007.

The Middle East

Snow in Jerusalem in late December 2006.

Snow in Amman, Jordan and in Israel, March 2007

In 2007-2008 Iran saw its coldest winter in over 50 years!

Global cooling deniers are not only limited to the west. Look at the interview with this Iranian lady who also are one of the authors of the IPCC rapport.
Extreme cool temperatures and heavy snowfall are apparently signs of global warming, Sorry--it is now called "Climate Change". -- Go figure!!

That winter saw northern and central part of Iran turn into an artic tundra.

On 11 January 2008, the people in Baghdad, Iraq were hit by bombardment of falling snowflakes. This was the first time this had happen for at least 100 years.

Northern parts of The Saudi Arabian kingdom was hit by a rare snowstorm by the same weather system that brought snow to Baghdad.

The Saudi King have to send help to snow weather victims.

The Artic

North Pole expedition to monitor Global Warming cancel trip due to severe frostbite...!!
In March 2007 two women on a trek to the North Pole had to stop their expedition and be rescued because the temperature sank to minus 100 degrees Fahrenheit, in March 2007. That is below minus 70 degrees Centigrade if it is to be believed. Anyway, it can still be extremely cold near the North Pole and the weather is still unpredictable. Here's their website!

After the breakup of their expedition I closely monitored the temperature on Svalbard or Spitsbergen which it is also called. Because it's a Norwegian territory near the North Pole it's included in the weather forecasts seen on Norwegian TV. So I'm able to see the current temperature in Longyearbyen which is the main community centre on Spitsbergen. The temperature so far have been very low, much lower to the temperature earlier in the winter and for previous years. The last couple of years have brought mild winters. This have affected the glaciers and how much ice that is forming in the Artic Ocean around that territory.

The global warming icon of the Artic is of course the ice bears. I happen to listen to a call on the net between a Swedish journalist and researcher who study ice bears on Svalbard. The discussion dealt with ice bear survival and that they need sea ice cover for survival in order to hunt for seal cubs.
Strangely..not once in their conversation did they ever talk about that the current weather had become cooler and that the spring this year was cool.
Fascinating!! Because to acknowledge that would give doubt to notion the ice bear population is in mortal danger.

Antarctica

NEW! Shocking climate revelation! The sea ice extend around Antarctica reached a record breaking large size of 16.2 Million square kilometers in late September 2007. While the climate Orwellian inspired corporate news media during the same time covered extensively news of a new low artic sea ice record made by a sea ice monitoring NASA satellite which have monitored the sea ice of both poles since 1979, no coverage of the made sea ice record around Antarctica can be found in any news media, but here.

Click here for sea ice monitoring data in the southern hemisphere.

Russia and Europe

In 2006, Russia experienced its coldest winter of the last 25 years This cold spread also to most of western Europe, with heavy snowfall in central Europe and the Alps. It also gave a cold and late spring in Scandinavia not seen for the past 20 years.

---------------------------

Far East

In January of 2008 China was crippled by its worst snowstorm in over 60 years.

A video clip from The First Ever governmental emergency global cooling press conference during the new modern climate minimum that we are now entering. This was recently held in China as a result of the severe blizzards that swept across that country, which were caused by the initial phase of the current period of worldwide global cooling.
The last similar cold spell or solar minimum occurred during the French Revolution and the Napoleon Wars and is called the Dalton minimum. The new solar minima have not got any scientific name yet, so I like to call it "The Modern Minimum".

In the not to distant future we can expect to see many more such press conferences from many other places in the world.

The US

Cold snap in western US reached as far as Southern California in January 2007.
The frost caused severe crop damage in Californian to the Californian agriculture and its citrus fruits. Also the central US down to Texas were subjected to an unusual ice storm reaching far to the deep south.

The Cherry blossom festival in Washington was interrupted by snow during Eastern 2007. This cold snap also brought late winter frost to the US South and caused crop damage. Atlanta saw it's lowest temperature for April for the last 100 years.

A side note! I woke myself up on Easter day to find snow cover of 4 inches where I live. But I live in another part of the world, in Norway.
Where I live late snow is not that unusual. Our local rescue service had a busy Easter holiday as many people had to be rescued on the mountain passes next to where I live as the roads were closed during a snow storm.

New Zealand

In the spring of November 2007 icebergs were spotted near New Zealand, South Island. This was the first time this have happen for the last 75 years. Not only one iceberg but a huge flotilla of over 100 iceberg were moving near the South Island.

East Africa

The are two icons in the global warming debate. One are the ice bears the other is the glaciers of Kilimanjaro in Tanzania. The glaciers on Kilimanjaro is claimed to be melting as a result of the warming of the Earth caused by greenhouse gases. It turns out that most of the melting or to be more correct the evaporation of the glaciers happen at the beginning of the 20th century.
Guess what!! Last year saw an increase of the Kilimanjaro's glaciers.
On that altitude more than 5000 meters above sea level, a glacier if it is decreasing in size is not melting, instead it is evaporating as a result of the low air pressure and intense sunlight.

I can testify to that as I have myself walked on Khumbu Glacier, next to Mount Everest at the same altitudes. If there is sunshine at that altitude it gets very warm, if clouds comes it get chillingly cold at once.

If global warming was caused by greenhouse gasses then one would expect to see the glaciers to increase. There would be more moisture, more cloud and more snowfall and less direct sunshine on these high altitude glaciers in the tropics.
If the warming is caused by less cloud cover one would expect to see less cloud, less snowfall and more direct sunshine. And this is precisely what we see not only on Kilimanjaro, but also in the Himalayas and on other glaciers in the tropics. This is a process which probably have been going on for the past 100 years as the Sun's magnetic activity have been increasing.
